Privacy Policy
The short version
Director does not collect, store or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no ads. Your recordings never leave your Mac unless you choose to share them.
Your recordings
Recordings are saved on your Mac, in your Movies folder under Director. Director has no servers and does not upload anything. When you export a video, it is saved wherever you choose.
Permissions Director asks for
- Screen Recording, so Director can record the display you pick.
- Input Monitoring (optional), so Director can tell that you are typing and keep a zoom in place. Director only notices that a key was pressed. It never records which keys you press or what you type.
- Movies folder, to save your recordings, and files you choose, to save exported videos.
Director also watches where your pointer is and when you click while you record, so it can place zooms and draw a smooth cursor. This information is stored only inside the recording on your Mac.
Purchases
If you buy Director on the Mac App Store, Apple handles the purchase under Apple's privacy policy. If you buy directly from our website, Lemon Squeezy processes the payment as the merchant of record, under Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy. We receive only what is needed to fulfil your order, such as your email address and receipt.
This website
director-app.pages.dev is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical information such as your IP address to deliver the pages. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
Children
Director is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
